Was truly the best race I’ve ever set my eyes on. This goes into my
DVD collection. There’s simply no doubt in my mind that Schumi is
beyond anyone in this era.
Wouldn’t want to take anything away from Alonso, he clearly showed
what he’s made of. Whilst overtaking stands as the glam thing and
falls in as champion material, the best of techniques and racing minds
do not teach you how to keep a rampaging car behind you from
overtaking you. Alonso did that, and quite well at that.
I also wouldn’t want to take anything away from the racing legend of
legends, Aryton Senna. In fact he stood way beyond everything and
everyone else in any era, and will continue to do so. I came upon a
link which has the legend’s last moments recorded and depicted as it
happened. Completely describes the set of events that took place
around him and the state of mind he was in (Imola, San Marino, 1994).
I know most of you may not be so much into f1, but this really makes
for some good reading.
