A Stinger with Love

It’s not very often that I resort to methods like the one mentioned below, but without doubt we have to put our feet down to address/resolve issues revolting around us at some threshold point.

What constitutes a stinger? Is it,
a) a harsh vocab, dirty facts and abuse filled correspondence with the be-friender? OR
b) a simple, precise factfile sent out to the right people?

We would choose to believe both of the above and the fact that it would depend on the situation at hand. In my current case, I choose the latter (with a very mild dose of the former).

Which one is more effective?
If your facts are clear, correct and justifiable then even the simple factfile method (b) could work wonders on the outcome. The vital pitch here being the keywords channeling thru’ to the ‘Right People’ in the loop.

What stood as my problem?
Our transport (yes transport once again … I seem to have hit upon a travel ‘bug’).
Our daily travel route was changed to a workaround route and was intended to have two disjoint zones mutually clubbed together primarily to have a spare car at the end of the day.
The result: A daily travel time (one time) of two and a half hours minimum (when it eariler used to be just over an hour.

Didn’t complain at first (the first week) but we did mention this to our administrators and transport co-ordinators (which went to deaf ears). And as it turns out, it got to us/me by the second week, which resulted in this stinger.

[–I wont be putting the contents of that mail down for privacy and security reasons, but for sure will tell you what was put forth–]

The mail mentioned all the facts that surrounded the issue and was addressed directly to the person who asked me to put it down in writing (the same person who was intentionally or not stalling the entire process). However I took the privilege of marking a copy to the concerned individual’s boss, our own boss and a few other involved entities, which suprisingly did work. It was a Stinger folks!!! With no harsh words flying anywhere, it still stood as a stinger for the simple fact that the bosses were involved.

The result: I came down for my drop as usual and see the Logistics/Admin head come over and discuss the issue in a very amicable fashion and with due effect, lead us on to separate vehicles.

In effect … issue solved. I reach home in just over an hours time …

(I still can’t sleep early though … no stinger will help this part)

(I also do not intend to write boring stories like this from this day on)
